Robyn has been a Mentor with the More To Life Programme since 1992 and has facilitated The Power of Self-Esteem and The Power of Purpose in Scotland, England, Australia, and New Zealand. She was part of the team that organised the first More To Life Weekend in New Zealand in 1994.
Robyn has considerable experience as a teacher and facilitator with adults and children. She leads parent groups in planning, facilitating, and documenting children’s learning, as well as designing training resources and leading workshops. Robyn has also served as an instructor in Christchurch for the Canadian programme Roots of Empathy, an emotional literacy and anti-bullying programme building community in classrooms.
I was born and raised in NZ, and as a Kiwi I share this Maori proverb: “Ehara taku toa i te toa takitahi, he toa takitini kē.” My strength is not mine alone but the strength of many. My mother enrolled me into the More To Life Programme in 1992. With what I learned I was able to transform my relationships with myself and those around me by tackling my judgements and blame (making myself and others wrong), and my gnarly comparing, which distanced me in another way. I know I am a more connected friend, partner, parent, and colleague as a result of practising these skills.
To me the real power of this work is that together we deliberately learn to tap into the truth and purposes that lead us to live more fully and freely. In showing up with my hurts, joys, courage, and vulnerability, and learning as others share theirs, I find that my deepest fears and heartfelt dreams are shared and witnessed by others. I have been married to Loren for 20 years and we have two teenage children. The tools and skills of the More To Life Programme have been invaluable in our day-to-day lives, whether we are “white-water rafting” the teenage years, or living with the incredible challenges of the Christchurch earthquakes. I believe this work creates a difference in the quality of our being that influences everything. I want to do my part so that many people experience freedom from lies and begin living in truth, gratitude, possibility, and creativity. That is at the heart of what’s on offer through the More To Life Programme.
